- United States Military Installations is a polygon theme representing the boundaries and location information for important military installations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The database includes records for 405 military installations.
- Purpose
- To provide graphic representation, location and attribute data for analysis, modeling and simulation, and studies. CLOSURE, REALIGN, and BRAC columns are from the office of Economic Adjustment and OSD websites at http://www.oea.gov, https://www.denix.osd.mil.

- Attributes for the military installations database were added using a Geographic Information System (GIS). Attribute values were created by the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Transportation Engineering Agency (SDDCTEA), and were compiled from unclassified sources such as the "Geolocation File." They have been quality reviewed by both SDDCTEA and the Research and Innovative Technology Administration's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (RITA/BTS).

- All node-link and polygon topological relationships are created and verified using computer algorithms. Unique entity identifiers were similarly verified using ArcInfo.
- Completeness Report
- The United States Military Installations database contains the boundaries and location information for important military installations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The database includes records for 405 military installations.
- Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report
- The Military installation database was compiled from TIGER/Line data having a positional accuracy measure of +/- 80m for the contiguous 48 States plus Washington D.C and Hawaii. TIGER/Line files for Puerto Rico and Alaska were compiled at a scale of 1:125,000.
