Abstract
Building polygons representing houses, businesses, mobile homes, barns, silos and other buildings that could be determined from aerial photography, using photogrammetric mapping technologies and HouseDiff feature extraction process.
Purpose
This data set is intended for use as a reference map layer for GIS maps and applications.

Data Quality Information
Logical Consistency Report
All polygons in this dataset is part of an ArcGIS geodatabase and consistency is maintained using ArcGIS map topology and geodatabase topology rules, then exported to a shapefile. Error checking is performed in the source data set. Please keep in mind that this dataset is not field checked and as with any features extraction process there are going to be polygons that looked like buildings on an aerial photo but are not in the field.
Completeness Report
Complete featureclass or shapefile for the entire County. However, keep in mind that the City of Ithaca portion of this dataset was not part of the Hitachi HouseDiff process which acquired footprints from 2002 aerial photos.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report
Varies, depending on source of building footprint. The accuracy of the data set range from the accuracy of the 1991 Tompkins County Planimetric Base Map series data in the City to the accuracy of the 2002 aerial photos.
