- Abstract
- This point layer contains all building centroid points within the City of Cambridge and addresses associated with each building from the Master Address database. For buildings with more than one address, address points are stacked on top of one another at the centroid point. Buildings with no associated address (such as garages, sheds, and warehouses) have address points at their centroid but contain null addresses.
- Purpose
- This layer was created for address geocoding and general mapping purposes, both for internal and external use.

- Original buildings data from the flyover were compiled using photogrammetric methods to meet ASPRS Class 1 accuracy standards for 1" = 100' scale mapping. The Buildings layer has been manually updated with major footprint changes through 2007 from georeferenced building plans. Master addresses compiled from ECC address list, Post Office address list, and field verified by Cambridge GIS in 2003-2004. Newer address changes made from CRS requests via DPW and ECC, and field verified by Cambridge GIS in 2007.
