Abstract
U.S. National Atlas Federal Land Lines represents the linear federally owned or administered land features (for example, national parkways and wild and scenic rivers) of the United States. Some features may be administered in conjunction with local governments. No data exists for Hawaii.
Purpose
U.S. National Atlas Federal Land Lines provides the linear federally owned or administered land features for geographic display and analysis at regional and national levels.

FEATURE
The type of the federal land.
National Monument
A landmark, structure, and other object of national historic or scientific interest, situated on lands owned or controlled by the government.
National Park
A natural place of great scenic and scientific interest with one or more distinctive historical or natural attributes, designated as a national park to protect and conserve the scenery, historic objects, and wildlife of the area.
National Parkway
A roadway and the parkland paralleling the roadway, that is intended for scenic motoring along a protected corridor, often connecting cultural sites.
National Wild and Scenic River
A river which, along with its immediate environment, possesses outstandingly remarkable scenic, recreational, geologic, fish and wildlife, historic, cultural, or other similar values, and which is preserved in a free-flowing condition so that it is protected for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. Protected as part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
Partnership Wild and Scenic River
A river which, along with its immediate environment, possesses outstandingly remarkable scenic, recreational, geologic, fish and wildlife, historic, cultural, or other similar values, and which is preserved in a free-flowing condition so that it is protected for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. A Partnership National Wild and Scenic River is part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System and is preserved and managed through a partnership of adjacent communities, state governments and the National Park Service.
