This is a scanned version of the 1880 paper map series entitled: Carta Topografica Dell'agro Romano e Territori Limitrofi in Scala Di 1 a 80.000. This map consists of six sheets, the online linkage file contains the image of the title sheet and a polygon layer that serves an index for the other five sheets. To download the map sheets using this index in ArcMap, add the layer, open the layer properties dialog, select the display tab, and check the "support hyperlinks using field" box while selecting the URL field in the dropdown menu. Then use the hyperlinks tool to select the polygon representing the desired tile. These map sheets were scanned at 300 dots per inch and are in the TIFF format.
Purpose
Scanned maps may be used for a variety of purposes. These images may be used in a GIS.

This map is a reproduction of the map published in 1863 by the Ufficio del censo di Roma, with additions in 1872 by Raffaelle Canevari. Cf, Title sheet.
