- Abstract
- World Agriculture is a polygon theme representing agriculture areas worldwide. Attribute information includes the type of agriculture and the environmental impact of that type.
- Purpose
- For educational, non-commercial purposes. This dataset is appropriate for use in a GIS.
- Supplemental Information
- Land is a basic resource for agriculture. Diverse natural, social, and economic conditions in different regions of the earth give rise to diverse types of agriculture. The main impact of agricultural activity on the environment occurs through the technological processes of cultivation and animal breeding. It is important to identify and assess the impact in order to establish a rational system of agriculture that is friendly to the environment.
