Abstract
World Latitude and Longitude Grid is a polygon theme representing a 1- by 1-degree latitude-longitude grid covering the world with attributes that allow it to display grids at intervals of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 degrees. To display a grid with a 1-degree interval, simply display all of the lines. To display a coarser grid (e.g., a 15-degree interval), in the Layer Properties dialog box, add the DEGREE15 attribute value equal to Y.
Purpose
World Latitude and Longitude Grids provides latitude and longitude lines for use as an overlay for world-level maps.

Data Quality Information
Logical Consistency Report
The shapefile is converted to SDC (Smart Data Compression) format using tools in ArcGIS. The SDC data set is then imported into a file geodatabase to verify, validate, and if needed repair the geometry.
Completeness Report
After processing, the data set is checked for drawing display and number of records and file sizes compared with source materials.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy Report
The geospatial part of this data set was mathematically generated using the ArcInfo Generate tool. In this manner, the locations were computed. The positional accuracy is limited only by the resolution of the data set, which is less than a meter.
