This polygon shapefile displays the extents of the earth fissures study areas. A blank area on the map does not guarantee earth fissures are not present. However, blank areas within a study area boundary have been investigated, and no surface evidence of fissures was found as of the date of publication for that particular study area.
Purpose
This datasets is made available to interested persons through the University of Arizona's instance of Open Geoportal. It has been provided to assist educators, students, researchers, and policy makers in mapping and/or analysis applications.
