This data set contain a black and white digital image taken in 1992 which covers most of Arizona. The image was constructed by combining multiple files for each quarter quadrangle into a single dataset. Gaps in data exist. Portions of Cochise, Pinal, Pima, Graham, Greenlee, Maricopa, Yuma, Coconino, and Apache county are not covered.
Purpose
This datasets is made available to interested persons through the University of Arizona's instance of Open Geoportal. It has been provided to assist educators, students, researchers, and policy makers in mapping and/or analysis applications.

This dataset as produced by the USGS was originally composed of 7561 individual granules that were associated to quarter quadrangles in Arizona. All tiles have been mosaiced in an image pyramid with gdal_retile to be served as a single dataset in GeoServer.
